Whats the worlds longest train ever?

Okay, so you wanna know 'bout the longest train ever? Seriously, that's a cool question.

It's this one, the BHP Iron Ore train. I saw pictures once and woah. Picture this, a train so long you practically need binoculars to see the end.

Ran it in Western Australia, Pilbara area, you know, outback stuff.

It was like, seven point three kilometers long, insane right? I kinda wish I coulda seen it in person, musta been a sight. I mean, 7.3 km!

Heard it was carrying, get this, one hundred thousand tons of iron ore. My beat up old car, it weighs what, maybe a ton and a half? Imagine that weight, yikes. Saw a documentary once, it mentioned iron ore prices went up around that time, November 2000 something like that. Think I read 'bout it, maybe 15 Nov 2001, could be wrong tho.

That's a LOT of iron! I mean wow.

Which train is the longest in the world?

Okay, the Trans-Siberian!

It's absolutely the longest train ride, no doubt.

I think it goes from Moscow to Vladivostok.

Russia, that's right. I remember reading about it.

It's over 9000 kms, which is...insane.

Took like, I dunno, six days? Six days! On a train.

My grandpa always dreamed of going.

Said it was like seeing all of Russia.

He loved trains, like really loved them.

Never got to go though, sadly.

Think it's still running today.

Anyways, pretty sure it’s the longest trip overall!

  • Distance: 9259 kilometers (approximate)
  • Starting Point: Moscow, Russia
  • Ending Point: Vladivostok, Russia
  • Duration: Roughly 6 days (may vary)
  • Important Note: It's an iconic journey, though maybe not always comfortable.

Which train is the largest?

Okay, largest train? The Ghan, without a doubt.

I rode The Ghan back in 2023, Adelaide to Alice Springs. Never forget that trip.

It's LONG, like seriously long. Someone said it was almost 1.2 km! Forty-four cars... crazy, right?

Felt like a small town moving through the desert.

I remember thinking, gosh, this thing started way back in 1929. Amazing it's still running.

The desert scenery... endless red dirt. Unreal.

Weird fact, they have a fancy restaurant ON the train. Who knew?

  • It goes from Adelaide to Darwin, but I only did part of it.
  • Yeah, 2,979 km is the full route, but I jumped off earlier.
  • It's a pricey trip!
  • I think it's iconic. Like a big, old metal snake.

I mean, big trains are cool! What else ya got?
