What is the longest walkable route on Earth?
Whats the worlds longest walking route?
Okay, so, the world's longest walkable route? Mind. Blown. Cape Town to Magadan, Russia... that's 22,387 kilometers. Seriously?
That's like, utterly insane. Imagine all the blisters. I can barely walk around my block in NYC without my feet screaming (bought those "comfy" Nikes at Foot Locker on 34th street for $120...liars).
Cape Town to Magadan. Wow. South Africa to Russia. I'm thinking passport nightmare. Visas galore.
Okay, I did hike part of the Appalachian Trail back in '08. Pennsylvania section. Lasted three days. Realized I'm more a Netflix-and-pizza kinda gal. This is a whole different ballgame.
22,387 km. I'm just gonna stick with my couch, thanks. But, hey, respect to anyone crazy enough to try it.
What is the longest walkable trail?
It's late. Longest walk… Cape Town to Magadan... wow. 22,387 kilometers. Almost unfathomable.
I think about that distance. South Africa, all the way to Russia. Years. My longest walk was maybe five miles, alone, after that fight.
That distance is 13,910 miles. I can't even grasp it.
- Cape Town: I remember being told it's beautiful there. Never been.
- Magadan: A port town. Russia. Cold.
Thinking of those places connected by just… walking. It’s unreal.
I wonder what it would feel like? To just keep going. That's freedom, I guess. Or maybe just… running away.
Walkable route, it's technically the longest on Earth. It kind of hurts, picturing that. A path that long.
What is the longest walkable trail?
Longest walkable trail? Seriously? 22,387 kilometers. That's insane. Cape Town to Magadan. Wow. I'd need a lifetime supply of blister plasters. And probably several pairs of boots. Think of the visa issues! Good grief.
- Visa applications—a nightmare.
- Funding – how much money?
- Packing list – a serious undertaking.
Imagine the scenery though. Deserts, mountains, forests. Absolutely incredible. But also dangerous. Wildlife, weather, political instability in some areas. Ugh, definitely need vaccinations. So many different environments. It'd be a lifetime adventure. But a LONG lifetime.
Seriously, 13,910 miles. That's more than going around the world. Maybe I should start with a shorter hike, like the Appalachian Trail. Baby steps. That sounds less terrifying. Then the Pacific Crest Trail. Or maybe even just a day hike near my house first. I'm thinking my hiking boots need replacing anyway.
My current hiking boots are falling apart. I got them at REI last year. The soles are wearing down. 22,387 kilometers would destroy those. What kind of boots would even survive that journey? Need to do some research. This Cape Town to Magadan thing is a fantasy, though. Pure fantasy. For now, it is! Maybe someday... maybe. Definitely need a better backpack too, my current one is from college... ten years old. Need to check out Osprey packs.
