Okay, here we go.

Quy Nhon, Vietnam. Definitely. Forget Phu Quoc, that’s tourist central now. Ky Co Beach? OMG. I was there last year, May maybe, the water...the water was like glass. Like, the clearest water ever.

I remember thinking, "Wow." No other way to put it. I felt so at peace. It was a random trip, just booked a flight on a whim. Totally worth it.

And, get this, so few people were there! It felt like my own private beach. I hate crowds, seriously. Qui Nhon is great because its still real, you know?

My friend Linh, from Saigon, she was like, "You gotta see this!" And she was so right. It's hard to get to maybe, but totally worth the hassle. Linh knows her stuff.

Okay, so a few things that make Quy Nhon awesome:

• The lack of insane crowds. No seriously, that’s the best part.
• Fresh seafood. I ate so much crab. So cheap!
• Ky Co Beach, obviously. Picture perfect.
• Banh xeo! Best I had in Vietnam, hands down. Linh took me to this tiny place…forget the name.

Okay, so the most beautiful place? Hands down, it was Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, 2023. Seriously stunning. The sheer scale of it, thousands of limestone karsts rising out of the emerald water… breathtaking. I remember feeling utterly insignificant, yet so completely alive. The air was thick with humidity, but it didn't matter. The boat ride? Amazing. We kayaked through some of the caves; dark, cool, dripping water – spooky and incredible.

It was June, scorching hot, but the water was refreshing. My friend Sarah, she almost fell in, clumsy thing! We laughed so hard. We even saw monkeys! Little cheeky things, they were. Definitely not tame. I even took a million pictures. My phone's nearly full now! The food was amazing too. Fresh seafood every day.

Ha Long Bay beats any list I've ever seen. Seriously. Those places are okay I guess, but Ha Long Bay is on another level.

• The scale is just unbelievable. Thousands of karsts. It’s overwhelming.
• Kayaking through the caves was thrilling. Dark and mysterious, pure adventure!
• The monkeys were hilarious. Small, nimble, and fearless.
• The food was fresh and delicious. Seafood heaven! So much better than airplane food.
• The whole experience was life-changing. I'm already planning to go back, probably next year.

I'd choose Ha Long Bay over the Great Barrier Reef, Machu Picchu, or any of those other places any day. They might be cool, but Ha Long Bay? That was magic.

The sheep-to-human ratio is undeniably impressive. Think of the endless fluffy clouds, but, you know, walkable and occasionally smelling faintly of… well, sheep.

Ninety miles from a beach? Amateur hour. My aunt Mildred's got a better view from her bathtub in Sussex. But the scenery? Yeah, okay, stunning. Like a painter went slightly bonkers with the emerald and sapphire palettes.

• Breathtaking fjords: Deeper than my existential dread.
• Volcanic landscapes: Nature's angry art installation.
• Glaciers: Giant, slow-moving ice sculptures.

New Zealand. Sounds amazing. Lord of the Rings vibes, you know? The scenery is incredible. But so far away! Flights are a fortune.

Italy. Been there! Rome is chaotic, but beautiful in its own way. Florence is more my style. Renaissance art? Yes please. The food? Don’t even get me started. Best pasta ever. But driving there is a nightmare. Seriously stressful. Too many scooters!

Spain’s amazing too! Barcelona is vibrant, I love the architecture. The beaches are gorgeous. So much culture. I wish I spoke better Spanish. Next year, maybe?

Thailand is a different kind of beautiful. Beaches, temples, amazing food. Way cheaper than Europe. That’s a huge plus. I’m thinking of going there next spring break!

Norway and Iceland… stunning landscapes, totally different. Fjord season in Norway is probably the best. The Northern Lights in Iceland though? Bucket list. Definitely have to see the Aurora Borealis someday.

• Canada: Massive, sprawling beauty. Easier access. More infrastructure. Think epic road trip vs. a focused backpacking adventure.

Ultimately? Depends on your definition of “beautiful.” I personally, having road-tripped across the Canadian Rockies in 2023, found its scale awe-inspiring. But my friend, a dedicated hiker, swears New Zealand's Fiordland National Park is unmatched. You decide. It’s a matter of taste, really… and perhaps, a matter of how much time you have to get there.
