Okay, so the world's most beautiful train ride, huh? That's kinda impossible to truly nail down, beauty being in the eye of the beholder and all.
But I'll tell ya, the West Highland Line in Scotland gets a whole lotta love, and for good reason.
Think lochs shimmering, mountains looming, and that Glenfinnan Viaduct, the one from Harry Potter – breathtaking stuff.
I haven't personally taken it, I'm so bad, I just had to see the viaduct once when I went Scotland maybe year or so ago. Worth it!
Plus, the Flam Railway in Norway, whizzing down next to waterfalls, that sounds awsome! Been meaning to book that one actually.
And then there's the Bernina Express in Switzerland... Alpine views, yup, that's up my alley.

Okay, so, most beautiful train? That's tough. I've been on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, Paris to Venice, 2023, not Portofino. Man, that was opulent. Seriously, plush carpets. Crystal glasses. The whole shebang. Felt like a movie, you know? Champagne flowed freely. Too freely, maybe. Haha.
But beauty? It's subjective. The Eastern & Oriental Express in Southeast Asia, 2022, was totally different, but breathtaking in its own way. Saw incredible landscapes. Lush green, mountains. The train itself felt more...worn, authentic, I guess. Less flashy, more charming.
The Vietage by Anantara in Vietnam, I saw pictures, looked amazing. But I haven't been. I'm dying to go. Seriously.
Africa’s Southern Cross. I heard about that one. Heard it's stunning scenery. But Europe still wins for me. The Orient Express felt luxurious, even though it's old. The service, though, OMG, top-notch.

- Eastern & Oriental Express: More rustic charm. Incredible views.

So, yeah, for pure, unadulterated luxury, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. But for overall experience? Tough call. Different strokes for different folks. The Eastern & Oriental was a unique experience.
