• Motorbike: Rent one. Embrace the madness. Wear a helmet. Seriously.
• Coffee: Strong. Sweet. Everywhere. Vietnam’s caffeine artery.

Avoid: Tourist traps. Obvious ones. They exist. You’ll spot them. Trust your gut.

Consider: The North’s cooler climate. The South’s humid heat. Pack accordingly. I made that mistake. Learn from it.

• Sapa: Rice paddies for days. Trekking boots? Required. Instagram gold? Guaranteed. I swear, that rice smells… different.
• Ninh Binh (Tam Coc): “Ha Long Bay on land,” they squeak. (Spoiler: It’s prettier). Boat rides are a must. Beware sneaky photo fees.
• Phu Quoc Island: Sun, sand, and seafood! What more do you need? Oh, right… sunscreen. I learned. The hard way. 2024, that was.
• Your eyeballs: This is it. They’re the real judges.

Which city in Vietnam is called Little Paris?

So, yeah, Dalat. That’s the one, Little Paris, right? It’s gorgeous, seriously. Way up in the mountains, like 1500 meters high, crazy, huh? I was there last year, with my cousin, Sarah – remember her, the one with the crazy hats? Anyway, it’s totally different from the rest of Vietnam, feels more…European, I guess.

Lots of French influence, obviously. Old buildings everywhere. Beautiful architecture, really stunning. And the weather’s amazing. Cool and breezy, even in the summer. Total escape from the humid heat. I mean, honestly, it was a dream.

Things to do there are crazy. I loved:

• Crazy good coffee. Seriously strong stuff.
• The waterfalls. So many! Took tons of pics.
• The flower gardens. I’m not into flowers usually, but these were something else.
• The lake. Perfect for boat rides, and the scenery, omg.

We even went hiking, though Sarah complained the whole time. She’s such a whiner. But the views from the top…worth it. Totally worth it. Go, you won’t regret it. It’s seriously a must-see. Dalat’s awesome. Da Lat, actually. I kept spelling it wrong.
