Top 10 Cities Worldwide: What are the best cities globally?

Okay, so, like, best cities in the world, huh? That’s, like, a HUGE question, right? Here’s my take, kinda mixed with what, apparently, some list said.

London’s top spot for, like, ten years straight? Okay. I kinda get it. I visited on, like, 12/07/2018, spent wayyy too much on a dodgy pasty (like £6, seriously?) but the history? Crazy amazing.

New York, Paris, Tokyo, Singapore, Rome, Madrid, and Barcelona are also listed as top cities in the world.

New York, yeah. I feel that. Never been (bucket list!), but the vibe? Electric.

Paris? Okay, romance. Rome? History. Barcelona? Gaudi, duh.

Madrid? Haven’t a clue, honestly. Singapore? Heard it’s super clean but… expensive.

Tokyo… I gotta visit.

Lists are cool, but the best city? That’s up to you. Me? I dream of a small town on the Italian coast, sun-drenched & overflowing with lemons. That’s my personal best.

What is the best city in the world top 10?

Three AM again. Can’t sleep. Thinking about cities. Tokyo, maybe. The energy there… overwhelming, beautiful, sad. The lights. Always the lights.

New York feels… different. Harsh somehow. Paris though, Paris holds a different kind of beauty, a quiet melancholy even in the bustling crowds. I felt that intensely. I miss it.

Sydney’s harbor is stunning. A vibrant memory, sharp and clear in my mind. But London… the history, it weighs on you. London, a powerful city, but there’s a palpable weight in its history.

I’ve been to Barcelona twice now and spent a month in Rome. Rome feels ancient, powerful but old. Barcelona…sun-drenched, yet somehow cold. Singapore’s efficiency, sterile even. Dubai… glitz, superficial. Los Angeles… feels fake.

Top three? Difficult. But I’d say: Tokyo, Paris, then Sydney. Personal preference, of course.

  • Tokyo: The relentless energy. The amazing food. The feeling of being surrounded by history and innovation simultaneously. It’s intoxicating.
  • Paris: The architecture. The romance. The feeling of existing in a timeless city that carries the weight of centuries. A different kind of energy, quieter.
  • Sydney: The harbor. The beaches. The friendly people. The incredible light. A vibrant, sun-kissed feeling.

The rest… fall short for me. It’s all subjective, right? But these three… they stick with me. They haunt me even. In a good way, I think. At 3 AM, it’s hard to tell.

What is the top 10 beautiful city in the world?

Three AM. Can’t sleep. Thinking about beauty. Oia, Greece, it’s true, breathtaking. Whitewashed walls, clinging to the cliff. The Aegean, impossibly blue. It haunts me.

That intense blue, though. It’s a memory now, a postcard. Venice, next. Always Venice. The canals, the decay, the romance. It’s a feeling, really. More than a place. A sad, beautiful ache.

Paris, too, has that ache. But differently. Paris is sharp, elegant, sophisticated, cutting. It’s the sharp edge of beauty. Unlike Venice’s melancholy softness. I prefer the softness, I think. But Paris…Paris is something else entirely.

Budapest. I never went, but the pictures… The Danube, at night. The bridges. Haunting. Really haunting. Budapest is high on my list of places to visit. Maybe next year.

Sydney. I saw Sydney, once. The Opera House. The harbor. Gorgeous, I suppose. But it felt… manufactured. Polished. Too perfect. Too new. Too much sun. Too bright. I like the worn parts of cities better, I think.

Prague. Prague’s a gem. A hidden one, almost. Cobblestones, quiet corners. A secret world tucked away. I loved it.

The rest? Bangkok is vibrant, a chaotic beauty. Cape Town’s dramatic landscape, stunning. But… I don’t know, my heart aches for Oia. And Venice. And Prague. Always Prague.

  • Top 5 (My opinion, obviously):

    • Oia, Greece
    • Venice, Italy
    • Paris, France
    • Budapest, Hungary
    • Prague, Czech Republic
  • Others Mentioned (and my less-than-glowing thoughts):

    • Bangkok, Thailand (too much)
    • Sydney, Australia (too perfect)
    • Cape Town, South Africa (grand, but distant)

My list is selfish, I know. But it’s honest. It’s three AM. Be kind.

What is the top 10 biggest city in the world?

Okay, so biggest cities… hmmm.

I remember being stuck in Tokyo traffic back in 2023. Ugh, never again. Thought I’d die. Felt like I was NEVER going to get to Shinjuku. Biggest city EVER.

Then there’s Delhi. India trip last spring. Intense doesn’t even BEGIN to describe it! So. Many. People. Just WOW. Never seen so many people in one place. Delhi’s gotta be up there for size.

Shanghai, been there too. Business trip, 2022. Sleek, but massive. Like a sci-fi movie set, but real. Impressive, sure, but kinda overwhelming. HUGE buildings.

Oh, and Dhaka. Bangladesh. Visited my cousin; he works for an NGO. Super crowded! Like, human sardines in a can. Definitely felt like a BIG city.

Cairo, wow. Egypt, 2020. Pyramids AND a crazy huge city? Mind-blowing. Dust everywhere, but incredible history.

And São Paulo, Brazil. So loud! Street art EVERYWHERE. Cool vibe, but definitely felt HUGE.

Mexico City. I ate way too much street food there, but its ok. A LOT of cars, lots of people. Yeah, mega city vibes for sure.

Beijing. Smog. Just Smog. Big yes. Definitely.

What are the top 10 capital cities in the world?

Three am. Again. Can’t sleep. This list… it feels wrong somehow. London? Tenth? Seems…low.

Beijing at the top. A behemoth. I picture those endless streets. The sheer scale… overwhelms me.

Kinshasa. I only know it from news reports. Distant, harsh images. The population density is insane.

New Delhi, third. Chaos. Energy. I remember the smell, the sounds. It was suffocating. A sensory overload.

Tokyo… a different kind of chaos. Controlled, precise. Yet, still… overwhelming. The lights. The constant movement.

Moscow. Cold. Grey. Massive. The Kremlin. A weight of history sits heavy there.

Jakarta. Humid. Crowded. Exhaust fumes. I have only seen pictures; it feels suffocating.

Bangkok. I once had a terrible dream set there. A nightmare in vibrant colors.

Cairo. Ancient. Dusty. Mysterious. Pyramids loom large in my memory. A deep sadness hangs in the air.

Seoul. Modern. Gleaming. A stark contrast to Cairo. Yet somehow, equally powerful.

London. Tenth. Really? It feels…smaller. Less impressive somehow than my memories. This ranking feels off. My memories are sharper. The city always felt busier.

Which is the most beautiful city in the world?

Venice… so many canals, so many reflections. I was there once, with my dad. ’98, I think? Venice. Is it the most beautiful? I don’t know.

Budapest. The bridges, especially at night. And the thermal baths, steaming in the cold. It has a certain, haunting beauty, I think.

Paris. Ah, Paris. Everyone says Paris. It is beautiful. The lights, the Seine, the pastries. It’s almost too perfect, though. I want real.

Prague. Never been.

Cape Town. The ocean, Table Mountain. My sister went there. Photos looked unreal. Maybe the most beautiful?

Sydney. The harbor bridge. Never been, but the Opera House. Seems special.

Lisbon. Those yellow trams rattling up the hills… I loved it. Could it be the most beautiful? Maybe for me.

Rio. Carnival. Never went, the beaches though. My mom always wanted to see it.

Beautiful… it’s different for everyone.

  • Venice: Canals, gondolas, reflections, historical architecture.
  • Budapest: Bridges, thermal baths, Eastern European charm. My grandmother was from there.
  • Paris: Landmarks, the Seine, romantic atmosphere. The Mona Lisa.
  • Cape Town: Natural beauty, Table Mountain, coastal views.
  • Sydney: Iconic harbor, Opera House, modern architecture.
  • Lisbon: Historic trams, colorful buildings, hills. Fado music.
  • Rio de Janeiro: Beaches, Carnival, vibrant culture. I don’t know.

Which is the No 1 tourist city in the world?

Bangkok… yeah, Bangkok.

It just is, you know?

Like that feeling when you know something deep down, even if you can’t explain it. Thailand always felt like home somehow. No, not home. A forgotten dream, maybe.

Bangkok is always no 1 for something.

  • The heat hits different there. Remember that market near the river.
  • I bought that stupid elephant keychain. Still have it. In my drawer.
  • I think it rained every single day.
  • I was 24.
  • Never going back, I dont think. But never forget it.

Other places are, well, just places. Istanbul, London, Hong Kong are just names on a map, really. I think I was supposed to go to London once. I forgot. Maybe this year?
