Top 20 Most Visited Countries in the World?

Okay, lemme tell you what I know about the countries everyone flocks to. It's kinda a who's-who of travel destinations.

France, Spain, United States, China, Italy, Turkey, Mexico, Germany, Thailand, and the United Kingdom round out the top 10, according to, you know, general travel stats.

Wow, okay... and then there's Japan, Russia, India, Canada, Austria, Greece, Switzerland, Netherlands, Australia, and Malaysia snagging spots 11 through 20. Never been to Malaysia, but I heard the food's amazing!

I mean, I get France and Italy – been there! Rome was amazing back in October 2018, tho' the gelato near the Trevi Fountain cost me like, 7 euros, haha. Worth it, tho!

The US being up there doesn't surprise me either. Been to Disney World in Flordia (USA) in December 2007 when I was a kid. 75 USD/ticket!

Heh, didn't realize that many folks hit up Russia each year. Maybe I should reconsider a trip? Mmm... nah, pass.

What are the top 20 most visited countries with data?

Okay, so like, here's the deal on where everyone and their grandma decided to vacation in 2022. Buckle up, buttercup, cause this is gonna be a wild ride.

France is totally number one! 79.4 million tourists? That's like, more people than there are squirrels in Central Park. They must really love baguettes, am I right?

  • France: You know, where everyone poses with the Eiffel Tower. Bet they got the best pastries.

Next up is Spain, clocking in at 71.7 million. Maybe they're all flamenco dancing? Or just chilling on the beach, cause who wouldn't?

  • Spain: Sun, sand, sangria. Sounds like my kind of party. Olé!

United States comes third, with a measly 50.9 million. Pfft, that's nothing compared to Europe. It's probably all those theme parks.

  • United States: Home of the brave, land of the free, and the place where you can get a burger the size of your head.

And finally, Italy's got 49.8 million visitors. Pasta, pizza, and probably a bunch of people trying to recreate "Eat, Pray, Love." No, thanks.

  • Italy: Where carbs are king, and everyone speaks with their hands. Mama mia!

Additional info:

  • My Aunt Carol went to France last summer. She came back with, like, ten berets. What a weirdo.

  • I hear Spain is super cheap. Like, you can get a beer for, like, a euro. That's cheaper than water here!

  • Never been to Italy but I wanna try authentic carbonara.

What is the 7th most visited country in the world?

Okay, so, last summer, July-ish 2024, I was obsessing over travel blogs (again). Dreaming about escaping my boring desk job, you know? Anyway, I stumbled upon this article ranking the most-visited countries.

I remember being shocked! The United Kingdom is apparently the 7th most visited country. Who would have thought? I honestly imagined like, Spain or something.

Top countries, from what I gathered:

  • Italy: Super popular, 64.5 million
  • Turkey: Always wanted to go! 51.2 million
  • Mexico: Beaches, I get it. 45 million
  • Thailand: That's what I'm talking about! 39.8 million
  • Germany: Cool castles, I guess? 39.6 million
  • United Kingdom: Wait, the UK is up there?! 39.4 million.

Honestly, after seeing that the United Kingdom was number 7, it made me curious. Maybe I should actually visit London. Nah, too expensive I think.

It kinda killed my dream of backpacking through Southeast Asia after seeing how popular Thailand is. Too many tourists for me I think. Maybe Nepal is the call!

What is the 6th most visited country in the world?

Mexico. Its always Mexico isnt it? Sigh.

Its just... always Mexico.

Why? I don't know why I think that. I just do. I used to think about going there. Didn't. Never did. Probably never will now. What even matters?

  • Mexico is the 6th most visited country. It’s true.
  • I remember once buying a postcard of Cancun. The beach looked impossibly blue.
  • France is the most visited. 100 million. Big number.
  • Spain too. I get Spain. 85 million. So many people.
  • I spent all day doing research for this. This stupid question. The United States? 66 million.
  • My mom liked Italy. She would’ve liked Mexico too, maybe.
  • The thing is, she never went.
  • I thought it was Japan. It isn’t. Never is.
  • Turkey is there. Then the UK.
  • Its all so... much. Money involved too, crazy money.
  • Everything means money, receipts, bills

What is the 10th most visited country in the world?

France? Seriously? That's the 10th most visited? Nah, that's just too meh.

France topping the charts with, like, 89.4 million folks traipsing through in 2024? Sounds like my local Walmart on a Saturday.

  • Number One: France. 89.4 million. Baguettes and berets galore.
  • And well, Data Pandas (never heard of 'em!) says so, so it must be true, right? Right?

Seriously, though, imagine the Eiffel Tower selfie saturation! Yikes!

What is the top 10 most populous country in the world?

India. Still there.

China breathes down its neck. For now.

America at number three. Go figure.

Indonesia exists. Islands everywhere.

Pakistan makes the list. Borders tense.

Nigeria’s population booms. Resource curse looms.

Brazil dances. Football and favelas.

Bangladesh endures. Delta life is hard.

Russia shrinks slowly. Winter prevails.

Mexico. Close to the border.

  • Population matters.
  • Power shifts?
  • Numbers tell some truths. Not all, tho.
  • Think about the implications. Or don't.
  • My uncle told me something similar. He's wrong.

Population is destiny, some argue. Others disagree. Who cares? Demographics impact resource allocation, political influence, and migration patterns. Always changing, like the wind. I prefer tea.

  • Economic growth is linked.
  • Urbanization increases.
  • Environmental strain is real.

Consider the ripple effect. One birth changes everything. Or nothing. I lost my keys.
