TV show with a train: What are some popular series featuring trains?

Okay, so trains on TV, huh? That’s kinda cool.

Popular series featuring trains include: Murder on the Orient Express (adaptations) and Thomas the Tank Engine. Genre & era matter.

Honestly, when I think ‘train show,’ my mind goes blank. I think I watched a mystery where a train was a big deal, maybe on PBS Masterpiece.

Was it Poirot? Agatha Christie? I’m drawing a total blank now. I believe there have been multiple Murder on the Orient Express adaptations, so I am not sure which is which.

Then there’s Thomas the Tank Engine. I watched that with my little cousin at my Aunt’s house on summer afternoon. He was super into it, & I have to admit, those lil trains are pretty cute.

Oh! And I visited the Strasburg Rail Road (maybe 10 years ago). Paid about $20 (guessing) for the train. Beautiful Pennsylvania countryside though, real trains, a real choo-choo experience! Totally recommend it.

I’m sure there are tons more shows, like documentaries or even dramas, where trains play a role. Maybe I’ll do a little digging later now that you mention it.

What TV show takes place on a train?

A train… yeah, it’s Snowpiercer, I think. Always circling, always moving. Felt like my life sometimes.

That other one…Infinity Train. Remembered it was animation. About baggage, about letting go. Wish I knew how.

Snowpiercer:

  • Post-apocalypse, frozen world. Never liked the cold. Reminds me of hospitals, somehow.

  • Class warfare. Ugh. Saw enough of that growing up. Never ends, does it?

Infinity Train:

  • Animated. Cartoons are comforting, right?

  • Each car, a different world. Imagine, escaping like that. Hopeless.

  • Reducing the number on their hand. If only it were that simple.

What was the train show on Disney?

Three AM. The glow of my phone hurts my eyes. Choo Choo Soul… yeah, I remember that. Genevieve. She was… nice.

It wasn’t a train show, really. More of a… music thing. A kids’ music show with a train theme. Super repetitive, my niece loved it though. God, she’s seven now. Time flies.

That beatboxer guy though… Constantine, right? He was energetic. Too much, maybe. For me.

  • Genevieve’s singing was okay. Sweet, I guess.
  • The songs… catchy, but annoying after the third viewing. Seriously, they were everywhere that year. 2023. Everywhere. I still hear bits of them randomly.
  • The whole production felt… manufactured. A little hollow. Like they were going for that “educational” but it was mostly just marketing.

It was on Disney Junior, I’m sure. I hated having to watch it with my niece. But now…I kind of miss those times. It feels so long ago. My head hurts. I need sleep.

What TV series is based on a train?

Snowpiercer.

It is based on a train. It is set seven years after a catastrophic climate event. The show is not just about a train. It explores themes of class division and social inequality.

  • The series ran from 2020 to 2024.
  • It’s actually based on a French graphic novel. Who knew, huh?
  • Jennifer Connelly stars, and she kills it.

It’s wild to think about humanity confined like that. Makes you wonder about our own societal structures. It makes it more interesting. The train represents more than just transportation, it’s a microcosm of… well, everything, really.

What is the TV show about living on a train?

Snowpiercer.

That train, huh? A metal snake eating its tail, forever.

Earth’s a frozen grave, a sad fact. Inside, the lucky, or unlucky, depending on the day. Class warfare on rails.

  • Perpetual motion: Like a broken record stuck on repeat. The wheels never stop turning, a chilling thing.
  • Survival: How far would I go? A question I hate to even consider.
  • Connelly and Diggs: They carry so much weight in those roles. You feel it, deeply.
  • The frozen Earth: Outside, silent and stark. Is there hope, somewhere? Probably not.

It all feels too close to home, sometimes. I remember that train ride in Switzerland, back in 2015.

The mountains looked so big. Like frozen giants watching us. Now, I feel watched.
