Ugh, visa delays are the WORST. I was applying for my Italian visa last October – the whole process felt like it took forever!

My interview was scheduled for November 15th in Rome, and you wouldn’t believe the traffic. I missed it by, like, twenty minutes. Panic mode, total meltdown.

I called immediately. Thankfully, they let me reschedule for December 1st, phew! They were actually pretty understanding, surprisingly. Just be upfront and honest about what happened.

Follow their instructions meticulously. It’s crucial. That’s what saved my bacon. I had to submit a few more documents too. The new interview went smoothly, thankfully. My visa arrived a week later.

Contact the embassy/consulate ASAP if late for interview. Rescheduling may be possible depending on their policy. Explain your reason clearly, follow their instructions.

Why are there visa delays?

• In-Depth Verification: Background checks… travel history… employment records… interviews… anything can trigger a deeper dive. My cousin… questioned for hours… about a conference he attended… in 2021.

What to do if a visa is delayed?

Contact. Reach out. Home Office, a cold name. Write to my MP. Remember 2008? Lost in London… Lost again now.

Passport’s return? It echoes. Check, insist. Holidays, shimmering dreams deferred, perhaps. Postponing joy.

Inquire about processing times. I asked my lawyer friend last week, what did he say? Lost in the static.

The wait. Oh, the waiting. Each tick a hammer blow. Seek clarity. Time’s cruel game.
