What US cities use the most public transportation?
New York City leads US cities in public transit use due to its dense population, extensive 24/7 subway, and comprehensive bus network. Boston and Washington, D.C. follow, with San Francisco ranking fourth.
So, you’re wondering which US cities are really into public transport, huh? I get it, I’m always curious about that kind of thing myself. It makes me think about my trip to New York – wow, the subway is everywhere, right? Twenty-four seven? Seriously impressive. And it’s packed, I mean packed, which, while maybe not always fun, really shows how much people depend on it. That’s why New York totally wins, no question, with its insane subway system and, you know, all those buses. It’s just… overwhelming, but in a good way, I guess?
Then there’s Boston and D.C., they’re up there too, I’ve heard. I haven’t been to D.C. myself, but I imagine it’s pretty similar to New York, maybe a bit less chaotic? Who knows. And Boston… well, I’ve only been a couple of times, mostly for Red Sox games, so my experience is kinda limited. But even then, I noticed lots of people using the T (the subway system there, in case you didn’t know). It’s certainly not as extensive as New York’s, though, is it?
San Francisco rounds out the top four, apparently. I’ve heard their public transportation system’s kind of… quirky? I’ve only seen pictures, I’ll admit, but those cable cars look amazing, if a little touristy. I wonder if they’re actually a major part of how people get around day-to-day, or more of a fun thing for visitors. Anyway, it seems like these four cities are the real public transport champions, at least according to what I’ve read. Makes you think, doesn’t it? About how different life in those cities must be compared to, say, somewhere where you have to have a car.
