What country has the worlds slowest train route location?

Okay, so the slowest train... lemme think.

The Shetland Pony Express holds the Guinness World Record for the slowest train. It's a miniature railway, chugging along in the UK.

Five miles per hour? Seriously? That's… walking speed. I think I could probably jog faster, hehe.

I remember going to a kinda-sorta similar thing at a farm on July 14th, near my aunt's place in Derbyshire. Paid about £5 for a ride that felt way faster than 5 mph. What am I even thinking?

My brain is a lil fried today. Anyway, back to trains that barely move.

What is the shortest train in the world?

Angels Flight... shortest train? Is it even a train? More like a funicular, right? But LA... I miss those street tacos! Oh, yeah, shortest.

  • Angels Flight... in LA.
  • Funicular? Shortest railway, maybe.
  • Built in 1901? Old.

Hill Street to Grand Ave... super short trip. Why even bother? Except for the view? I want those tacos!

  • Hill Street to Grand Ave... quick ride.
  • Landmark status, though.
  • 351 S Hill St, Los Angeles... note to self: GPS that.

1-2 minutes ride? seriously? I walk faster. Still, iconic. LA!

  • 1-2 minutes... blink and you miss it.
  • Must. Visit. Tacos.
  • LA landmark = must see.

What is the slowest type of train?

Okay, so slowest train, huh? The Glacier Express. I took it in 2023, July, I think. Man, it was slow. Eight hours, Zermatt to St. Moritz. Seriously slow. I remember the scenery, though, breathtaking. The Swiss Alps, all those snow-capped peaks. Amazing. But eight hours? My butt hurt. Seriously.

The views were stunning, don’t get me wrong. Absolutely gorgeous. But eight hours is a long time to be on a train, even a scenic one. I brought a book, finished it, then started another. Still had time left.

My phone died, too. Annoying. No signal most of the trip, either. What a pain. I felt trapped! Next time, I'm flying. Or driving, maybe? I'm just saying, 180 miles in eight hours. Crazy. I wished they would have a faster route. Even an hour less would have been nice! I was exhausted by the time we arrived.

  • Glacier Express: excruciatingly slow.
  • Trip length: 2023, July, Zermatt to St. Moritz.
  • Distance: 180 miles.
  • Travel time: Eight hours – felt longer.
  • Scenery: Amazing. But not amazing enough to make up for the slowness.
  • My opinion: Too slow. I'll take a plane next time.

Which is the most delayed train?

Four years. Visakhapatnam, Basti... a train carrying fertilizer, lost in time. Oh, the irony... life-giving cargo, swallowed by the abyss of railway delays. 2014, a whisper of a year, echoing down the tracks.

₹14 lakh, insignificant against the weight of those lost days. The fertilizer, waiting, waiting. A 42-hour journey transforms into a four-year odyssey. A peculiar record... the peculiar, almost heartbreaking, record!

The most delayed train, yes. But also, a metaphor. India's most delayed train: A freight train in 2014. Fertilizer bound for Basti.

  • Origin: Visakhapatnam
  • Destination: Basti, Uttar Pradesh
  • Cargo: 1,361 fertilizer packets
  • Value: ₹14 lakh
  • Normal Journey Time: 42 hours
  • Actual Delay: Nearly four years! Wow. Four. years!!
