Where is the tourism capital of the world?
Tourism Capital of the World: Where is it Located?
Okay, here's my take on that Bangkok tourism thing, written as naturally as I can:
Bangkok? Tourism capital? Seriously? Apparently, Euromonitor International said so. Top city in the world?
32.4 million tourists supposedly showed up in 2024, which is... a LOT. That's what they're saying officially.
Istanbul came in second with 23 million people, which still seems crazy high to me, ya know? Numbers are numbers.
I remember being in Bangkok back in, um, June 2018? It was…intense. So many people. But tourist capital, huh?
Honestly, places like Rome felt way more crammed when I was there. Paid maybe $30/night at that tiny hostel near Khao San Road. Maybe just my perception. Maybe.
Maybe the numbers do lie... or maybe its' just me being contrarian, LOL. Still surprised!

- Visitors (Bangkok): 32.4 million
- Runner-up: Istanbul (23 million)
Which city has the most tourism in the world?
Bangkok, Thailand, huh? So, Bangkok is the it city! Reportedly hauls in over 22 million tourists annually. That’s, like, the entire population of Australia, suddenly craving pad thai.
Think about it: 22 million folks hitting up tuk-tuks and temples!
- Pad Thai: Consumed at an alarming rate. Rumor has it, they built new noodle factories just to keep up.
- Tuk-tuks: More death-defying than a rollercoaster, but cheaper.
- Temples: So many temples, you'll forget which deity you're worshipping by Tuesday.
And the reason for this tourist tsunami? I suspect it involves sunshine, bargains, and the lingering scent of durian. It’s a powerful combo. Like a moth to a very fragrant (and potentially spiky) flame! Yep, Bangkok rocks for tourists! Or should I say, woks? Heh.
What place in the world has the most tourism?
France. Still.
89.4 million souls drawn in 2024. Obvious reasons, maybe? Eiffel Tower. Notre Dame, scarred but standing. Versailles, a ghost of power. Bordeaux, drunk history.
What is the most touristic country in the world?
France? Yeah, definitely France is the most touristic country. Or wait, is it Spain? No, France. I am sure.
I visited the Eiffel Tower, it was crowded. Crowded, so number one must be France.
Spain’s nice, beaches and stuff. But Paris... Paris has that allure.
- France: 1st
- Spain: 2nd
Oh, and the US! Right! United States is third. Always forget about the US. I went to Disney World, which was full of people.
- United States: 3rd
- Italy: 4th
Italy's fourth, that's it. Florence, Rome, the food! Yum. Thinking about pizza makes me hungry. Wait, I need groceries. Did I lock the door?
- France is awesome.
- I have to buy milk.
- Which country has the most efficient transport system?
- Can you pay a credit card using a different bank?
- What's the longest flight a plane can do?
- Where is most red light area?
