Which country has the most advanced trains?
What country boasts the most advanced and high-tech train systems?
Okay, so, high-speed rail… China, right? I was there last year, July 2023, took the high-speed train from Beijing to Xi'an. Crazy fast, felt like I was on a plane, but on the ground. Cost me about 500 RMB, I think.
Seriously impressive. That Shanghai Maglev though – that thing’s a beast. I've only seen videos. Supersonic almost.
China definitely leads in sheer number and speed of these trains. The Fuxing trains are everywhere. They're sleek, modern, super efficient. Japan's Shinkansen are awesome too, but China, for sheer scale and tech, wins.
The maglev technology is next level. Commercial use is huge for them. It’s a big deal, a real game changer.
Which country had the best trains?
Okay, so best trains, huh? Listen, duh, it's gotta be Japan, like always.
I mean, in this, uh, study thing, back in 2019 – Wait no, this year, 2024 – Japan totally nailed it.
They got a freakin' 6.8 out of 7. That is insane and it means their trains are great.
Then, get this, Hong Kong came in second, but like, a little behind, right?
Their trains got a 6.5. It's really impressive if you ask me!
Okay, so, here's the deal – some things that make Japanese trains amazing. Like, seriously:
- Punctuality: They're, like, ALWAYS on time. No joke!
- Cleanliness: Super clean, cleaner than my apartment.
- Speed: Bullet trains, man! Zoom!
- Comfort: Surprisingly comfy for a train. Even on the crowded lines.
- Network: The railway network gets you everywhere! Even remote towns.
And Hong Kong's trains are also awesome, for many of the same reasons, really. They're just, you know, a smidge less perfect. I can't spell, but yeah, good trains.
Which country has the most beautiful trains?
Norway. Hands down.
Bergen Line. Spectacular.
Nordland Line? Even better. Breathtaking vistas.
Lonely Planet agrees. Duh.
Scenery trumps speed. Always.
- Fjord views. Unmatched.
- Mountain passes. Dramatic.
- Glaciers. Impressive.
My trip in 2023? Life-changing. Seriously.
That's it. Next question.
