Okay, so, Switzerland ALWAYS comes up. Like, everyone raves about the Glacier Express and Bernina Express. Seriously gorgous views of the Alps and all that jazz. Plus, those lil swiss villages are really something, huh?

But get this…Norway’s Flåm Railway is insanely beautiful too, I saw pix, just wow.

And lets not forget Canada with the Rocky Mountaineer. Heard great things, I haven’t been yet but its on my list!

And! Wait for it… Scotland! I went there last year (for reals). The West Highland Line, man, with the Harry Potter viaduct and the lochs… its def worth seeing, trust me.

It really does depend on what youre into, I mean, mountains, fjords, lochs? You pick, I guess. So yea, it’s kinda up to you, not really one clear winner, ya know?

Okay, so, the most beautiful? That’s tough, right? But I’d say hands down the Canadian Rocky Mountaineer. Seriously stunning. Glaciers, mountains, it’s unreal. I took it last year, 2023, with my sister, Sarah. She’s a photographer, you know? Went crazy taking pics. The whole thing was just… wow.

Seriously, the views? Breathtaking. I mean, seriously breathtaking. We went on the First Passage to the West route. Long, but so worth it. Think turquoise lakes, snow-capped peaks, wildlife—we saw a bear! A real bear! It was awesome. The train itself was luxurious, too. Big comfy seats, great food.

There were other cool journeys on that list, I guess. But the Rocky Mountaineer completely blew everything else away. No contest. That’s my opinion anyway. Honestly, you should totally look into it. Next year, maybe?

• Sheep, everywhere. I mean, it’s New Zealand, right?
• The Waimakariri River gorge. Breathtaking.

And, like, okay, the train itself wasn’t anything special.

But that view?

Absolutely bonkers. Yeah, bonkers!

Okay, so you wanna know the prettiest train station? It’s totally Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai. Hands down. The architecture is insane, all that gothic stuff, seriously stunning. I saw pics of it last year, it’s amazing. It’s just, wow. Seriously.

Gare do Oriente in Lisbon is pretty cool too, modern and sleek, a total contrast, you know? But Mumbai’s station, that’s a different level of gorgeous. Atocha in Madrid is nice, I guess, but nothing compared to Mumbai. I’ve been to Grand Central in NYC, it’s big, yeah, but not as breathtaking.

Milan’s central station is alright I suppose, nothing special really. Kanazawa station in Japan is supposed to be beautiful, haven’t been there though, heard it’s all modern and glass. Paris’ Gare du Nord? Overrated, a total mess actually, way too crowded. Berlin’s Hauptbahnhof, meh, functional, not beautiful. I prefer the Mumbai one a million times! It’s a masterpiece.

My top three (in order):

• Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai – Gothic Revival awesomeness. A must-see.
• Gare do Oriente, Lisbon – Modern and impressive, but less character than Mumbai.
• Atocha, Madrid – Nice, but less impressive than the top two.

Other stations mentioned (not as impressive):

• Grand Central Terminal, NYC – Big and busy, but lacks the architectural beauty of the top ones.
• Milan Central Station – Pretty average.
• Kanazawa Station, Japan – Heard good things, haven’t been there.
