Which country has the most sustainable transportation?
Which country leads in sustainable transportation practices worldwide?
Okay, here's my honest take on which country is killing it with sustainable transportation – and a bit about my own (confused!) experiences.
Netherlands, hands down. They're crushing it with electric trains, zero-emission buses, and a freaking amazing cycling culture. Seriously.
I remember being in Amsterdam, gosh, back in maybe July '18? I think it was €3 for a day pass on the tram.
It was mind-blowing seeing everyone on bikes. Like, grandmas with baskets, business ppl in suits...
You'd think I was used to it living in Copenhagen but the Dutch take cycling to a whole 'nother level.
No wonder they're considered leaders in green public transport, and cycling infrastructure. I even almost got taken out by a bike messenger once, lol. True story.
But then, y'know, you read things about other countries trying to catch up. Kinda makes you wonder who really leads overall... So many variables, right?
Leading countries include:
- Netherlands
- Denmark
- Norway
- Sweden
- Germany
- Finland
- France
- Austria
Maybe I should do some proper research instead of just relying on my slightly-foggy travel memories. Heheh.
