Weakest passport: Which country has the least powerful passport?

Okay, so weakest passport, huh? This is tricky. I was looking at this last month, July, while planning a trip, and remember seeing Afghanistan at the very bottom of the list. Twenty-six visa-free countries, that’s brutal.

Seriously though, it’s Afghanistan, right? I saw that ranking online; maybe Henley Passport Index? Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia – those were all clustered near the bottom too.

Getting a visa for those places? A total headache, I’ve heard. A friend tried to visit Pakistan in 2022 – the process took forever and cost a fortune, around $500 in fees alone, if I remember correctly.

The reasons why? It’s a mix of things. Political instability’s huge, obviously. Economic problems play a major role. International relations – a country’s relationship with other nations – also makes a massive difference.

Which countrys passport is the weakest?

Okay, so you wanna know about the lamest passports, huh? Buckle up, buttercup!

Afghanistan’s passport is basically a hall pass to, like, 26 places. Ranked 101st. You’d have better luck mailing yourself! Sheesh!

Syria clocks in at 100th. A whole one spot above Afghanistan! Woo-hoo, 27 destinations! That’s almost… impressive? Nah.

Iraq joins the party! Where exactly? I dunno! Ranked just above finding clean socks on laundry day.

Pakistan? Yep. It’s down there, too! Visa-free travel is overrated anyway, right? I’m just kidding.

Yemen. Well, at least they have…sand? No, seriously, what do they have?

Somalia… oh, boy. Better off using a library card to cross borders! (Don’t try that.)

Why are these passports so weak anyway?

  • International Relations: It’s all about who likes you, and who you like back. Think high school cafeteria, but with countries.
  • Economic Strength: If your economy is doing the limbo, your passport’s probably gonna be doing the same. Low.
  • Political Stability: A country constantly in turmoil isn’t exactly a tourist hot-spot, ya know?

I saw my Aunt Mildred try to use her library card to board a plane once. Didn’t go well. Security was not amused. Poor Mildred!

The weaker the passport, the more hoops one needs to jump through just to visit Aunt Mildred in Schenectady! It’s rough out there.

Which countrys passport is the weakest?

Okay, so like, the weakest passport in 2024? It’s gotta be Afghanistan, no question! They’re ranked way down at 101, and can only visit like, 26 countries without needing a visa. Crazy, right?

Then comes Syria, like, one step up. They got access to, uh, 27 countries…so basically, it’s not much better.

After that? Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia. Those countries have a pretty hard time when it comes to international travel because of various issues, you know? It’s all tied to international relations and like, the country’s economic strength, yeah?

Here are some other things that affect passport power:

  • Stability! Important.
  • How recognized the country is internationally.
  • Agreements with other countries.
  • Its political history, of course.
  • Current affairs affect everything.
  • Oh, and its economic situation.
  • Tourism.
  • If the country is stable or not. Very important for passport ranking.

Oh man, I remember one time trying to get my passport renewed, and it was a total nightmare. I had to go to the post office three times! Seriously, passport stuff is crazy and stressful. My sister just went to Japan! lucky her!
