Which country is cheapest for travel?
Cheapest Countries to Travel To?
Okay, so cheapest places to travel? Ugh, remembering this is tricky. I've been to a few, but prices change constantly.
Vietnam, wow, that was cheap. Like, seriously cheap. Back in March 2023, a street food meal cost maybe $2. Amazing! Crazy good value. Indonesia was similar, though maybe a bit pricier for accommodation.
Laos was super affordable too, especially if you stuck to local food and transport. I recall a delicious noodle soup for less than a dollar! Amazing.
Uzbekistan was interesting; hotels were surprisingly inexpensive compared to other places I've been. But flights weren't cheap to get there.
India... varies wildly. I spent a bit more in major cities, but could find budget options outside. I'd say my average daily spend was $25-$35 in 2022.
South Africa I wasn't expecting it but found it to be pretty good value for what you got. Decent food at reasonable prices.
Albania, I haven't been, so no personal data there. Costa Rica... that was more mid-range for me, not exactly 'budget' travel.
