Where is the safest place in Asia to live?

Singapore. Okay, yeah, Singapore. I actually spent three months there last summer, internship thing you know?

Lived in a tiny apartment near Orchard Road. Man, that place is intense.

Safety? Well, I never felt unsafe, ever. Seriously. Like, walking back at 2 am after a late night with colleagues, zero worries. Never got that feeling in London.

The vibe is…controlled. Maybe a little too controlled, but safe? Absolutely.

Here's what I mean, safety wise:

• Low crime rate: Seriously, almost nonexistent pickpocketing, like, nowhere near what happens in Barcelona.
• Strict laws: Gum is still banned, I think. Says it all. But it works.
• Efficient police: They are everywhere, and they are efficient.
• Surveillance: Cameras. Everywhere. So yeah.
• Healthcare: Amazing, top notch. Had to visit a clinic once for a weird rash, fast and perfect service.

BUT... it's expensive. Rent near Orchard? Forget about it unless you're loaded. I was paying like, $3,000 SGD a month for a shoebox. The food can also be pricey, especially if you're eating Western food. Local hawker centers are great and cheap though.

Oh, and the humidity. Don't even get me STARTED on the humidity. Everyday felt like stepping into a sauna. I get why some ppl love Singapore, but I am not fully convinced.

Singapore is really safe, I can tell ya. But "safest"? Depends what you prioritize, I guess. Safety is the only thing that matters? Then sure, Singapore is great. It's also super clean, crazy organized and really boring. Just kidding... not really.

What is the lifestyle like in Vietnam?

Vietnamese life? Think chaotic deliciousness, a family reunion that never ends. Three generations crammed into a house? More like a bustling anthill, but with better pho. Respect? Yeah, elders are treated like slightly grumpy, but beloved, gods.

Hard work's the name of the game. Seriously, these people are workhorses. They'd make a pack mule blush. My uncle, who lives in Ho Chi Minh City, works 14-hour days selling knock-off designer handbags!

Daily life? Picture this:

• Scooters everywhere! Like a swarm of metallic, buzzing bees. My cousin nearly got hit last week, twice!
• Street food is insane. I once ate a whole grilled octopus on a stick... regret nothing.
• Negotiating prices is a national sport. Think haggling Olympics, only with more smiles.
• Family gatherings are epic. Think Thanksgiving times ten, with karaoke and way more firecrackers. My birthday this year was something else!

Seriously, it's amazing. But exhausting. I'm still recovering from my last trip. And you'll never find a better bowl of bun cha. Trust me, I've tried. The humidity is killer though, think a sauna with motorcycles.
