Okay, so Thailand versus Vietnam, huh? Been to both. Absolutely loved Thailand. The beaches in Phuket, 2023, were stunning. Seriously, postcard-perfect. The food? Amazing. Pad Thai everywhere. I gained five pounds, easily. But it was worth it. Expensive though, even outside the tourist traps. Drinks, especially. Ouch.

Vietnam, on the other hand, felt different. Sapa in northern Vietnam, last year. The rice terraces were incredible. Breathtaking, actually. The people were so friendly! Way friendlier than some places in Thailand I visited. Way cheaper too. Ate like a king for a pittance. Seriously. My wallet rejoiced. Motorbikes everywhere. A bit chaotic, I admit. But exhilarating!

Thailand wins on beaches, hands down. Absolutely gorgeous. Vietnam wins on cost, no question. The difference is massive. Plus the food in Vietnam—different spices. So interesting. I even tried some weird things, I'm not proud of it but the experience was awesome.

So… which is better? Depends what you want. Luxury and stunning beaches? Thailand. Adventure, delicious food, and budget travel? Vietnam.
