Stayed in a cute little homestay near Echo Beach. Thought I was being smart, budget-wise. Nope. Everything around there, aimed at tourists. Surf lessons? Inflated. Cocktails? Ouch. Even the freakin’ coconuts.

My friend Sarah, she went to Hoi An last year. Raved about how cheap it was. Silk, tailor-made clothes, food…all pennies compared to Bali. I was jealous.
