Which islands to visit in Halong Bay?

Which Halong Bay islands are the best to visit for tourists?

Okay, so you wanna know about Halong Bay islands? Lemme tell you, it's a stunner, for real. I went there in... jeez, April 2022? Something like that. Anyway, here's the lowdown, my way.

Tuan Chau Island, it's like the spot. Close to Halong City center, easy access, got hotels galore. Lots of stuff, almost too much maybe. (Distance from Halong Bay Centre: 2 km).

Honestly, it felt a lil' too "theme park" for me, y'know? Too much, like, organized fun. I'm more of a "kayak into a cave and hope I don't get lost" kinda guy.

Thing is, for families? Tuan Chau's probly great. But if you're chasing that raw, wild Halong vibe? Maybe look elsewhere first.

My buddy swore by Cat Ba Island, bigger, more to explore he said. I didn't make it there on that trip, but it's on the list for sure.
