Which job is best for a foreign country?
So, you're an Indian thinking about working abroad, huh? Big decision! And the money's gotta be good, right? I totally get that. I mean, who doesn't want a better life for themselves and their family?
From what I've read – and I’ve spent a lot of time looking into this, believe me, my cousin Raj was obsessed with this for months – petroleum engineering seems to be a real winner. Seriously, those salaries are insane! Something like $111,000? Wow. Just imagine all the biryani you could buy! Okay, maybe that's a little frivolous, but still... that's life-changing money.
Data science is also up there, almost as much. Around $101,000. I have a friend who's into all that, she’s always talking about algorithms and stuff, it sounds complicated. But clearly, it pays off. She’s already planning a trip back to India to visit family, and she’s talking about buying her parents a new car – that’s awesome!
Software engineering is another solid bet. Not quite as high as the others, around $94,000, but still pretty fantastic, you know? Plus, it feels like there are way more opportunities out there. It's more widespread, unlike petroleum jobs which are more geographically specific. I knew this guy who got a software engineering job in Canada, he was practically ecstatic! He sent us all pictures of snow, which was kinda weird because India is mostly pretty hot!
Anyway, the point is, there are some seriously good options out there if you're willing to make the move. It's a big step, but those numbers are pretty tempting, aren't they? You just gotta figure out what you're passionate about, and what skills you can really leverage. Good luck!
