Hong Kong’s MTR, yeah, that’s the one. Best train system? Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway (MTR).

• 99.9% on-time.
• Seriously, like, always on time.

99.9% on time… I wish my bus was like that! My bus to work is NEVER on time. Why can’t all trains be like the MTR? What’s their secret sauce, anyway?

Most other train systems? They wish they were the MTR. Dreams, dreams, dreams. My dream? A train that’s never late. MTR solves that!

Is it the best though? I guess “best” is subjective, right?

So, highest price fluctuates. Depends on the itinerary, cabin class, and year. Check their websites. Always do your research. But expect to spend significantly more on these than on, say, Amtrak. Or even the Eurostar. Different leagues.

Oh, you mean like, which train costs the most to ride? Right? Okay.

It’s gotta be the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. It’s like, the fancy train.

• Golden Eagle Danube Express – Europe – Heard its nice too, but not quite as iconic.

• The Maharajas Express – India – India’s got some really nice trains too, the Maharajas Express being one of them.

• The Deccan Odyssey – Also India – A competitor to the Maharajas? Maybe.

• Rovos Rail – South Africa – Don’t forget Rovos Rail, luxury travel through Africa.

Seriously though, the Orient Express is probably the priciest. Think like, insane service and food and vintage vibes, y’know. I saw a docu about it once, and the prices are shocking. It’s not really, a train I’d hop on. Not in my budget.
