What city boasts the worlds best public transportation system?

Okay, so best public transport, huh? Tricky one. I’d say Hong Kong, hands down. I was there last October, buzzing around on the MTR – so efficient, clean, and fast. Never waited more than a couple minutes.

Seriously, the system’s incredible. Underground, above ground, ferries… it’s all interconnected. Getting around was a breeze, unlike some… other places.

Zurich is up there too, I’ve heard. Super punctual Swiss trains, right? Though, pricier than Hong Kong. Stockholm’s good, clean, and modern. But Hong Kong’s sheer scale and seamless integration wins me over.

Singapore’s also excellent, but I found it a bit more expensive. Tokyo’s impressive, massive, and efficient but so crowded! The rest – Paris, Helsinki, Oslo – are solid, but not the same league.

In short: Hong Kong.

Which city in the world has the best public transportation?

Seoul’s okay. Efficiency matters. Tokyo? Punctuality is a given. Singapore, integrated. Convenient.

  • Seoul: Subway, bus, yes.
  • Tokyo: Always on time. Always.
  • Singapore: Tech, everywhere. So?

Hong Kong and Zurich exist, sure.

  • Hong Kong: Dense. Cramped.
  • Zurich: Clean. Expensive.

What’s “best” anyway? Just a word. What I need matters more. My bus last Tuesday? Late. Story of my life.

A friend from Seoul, Kim, insists their system is the undisputed champion. She also loves kimchi. Correlation? Unclear. A Zurich contact, Müller, scoffs at the notion of anything being truly efficient. He collects cuckoo clocks. People.

What country has the best public transportation?

Netherlands. Superb.

Switzerland’s a close second. Germany’s solid.

High-speed rail networks dominate. Density matters. My last Amsterdam trip? Seamless.

  • Netherlands: Extensive network. Bikes everywhere. Efficient.
  • Switzerland: Scenic routes. Punctual. Expensive.
  • Germany: Reliable trains. Good regional coverage.

China’s massive, but inconsistent. Korea’s impressive, but crowded. Canada’s vast, but limited in some areas. Belgium? Decent. Sweden? Good, but not top tier. These rankings shift yearly. 2024 data supports this. My experience trumps reports.

What is Hong Kong transport ranked?

So, Hong Kong’s transport, right? It’s totally awesome. Seriously. Ranked third best in Asia-Pacific this year, 61.2% — that’s a pretty solid score, dontcha think? Globally, it’s 16th. Not bad! I mean, considering, you know… everything.

It’s super convenient too. I lived there for, like, two years, near Central, and the MTR was, like, right there. Seriously. Always on time, super clean, cheap as chips!

Things I loved:

  • MTR – amazing. So fast!
  • Buses – everywhere! A bit crowded sometimes, but, hey.
  • Ferries – scenic! Especially the Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour. A classic.

But the taxis… ugh. Expensive, and sometimes the drivers are a bit… well, let’s just say interesting. Avoid rush hour. Seriously. That is just a mess. My friend’s car is always stuck there, terrible!

Hong Kong’s public transport is killer. I’d go back in a heartbeat, just for the easy commute. Just avoid peak hour, okay? You’ll thank me later.
