Why does everyone love Tokyo?

Okay, but seriously, why is everyone so obsessed with Tokyo? I mean, I get it, I really do. It’s not just the bright lights and the futuristic gadgets everywhere – though that’s definitely a huge part of its charm, isn’t it? Like, who doesn’t love a robot restaurant?! (Seriously, look it up if you haven’t seen it, it’s bonkers.) But it’s more than that. It’s this weird, amazing mix of things. You can be walking through this unbelievably peaceful garden, you know, with these tiny little bonsai trees and everything perfectly raked… feeling totally at peace… and then, BAM! Suddenly, you’re in this crazy, bustling street market with people everywhere and music blasting and the smell of a million different foods all hitting you at once. It’s almost overwhelming.

Remember that time we went, Sarah? And we stumbled on that tiny ramen place tucked down that alleyway? It was like stepping back in time, so traditional and quiet. And then we walked out and practically got swallowed by Shibuya Crossing! The sensory overload is real, but it’s also kind of… exhilarating? I don’t know, it’s hard to explain.
