Why is Halong Bay famous for its beauty? What makes it special?

Okay, so Halong Bay... famous? Yeah, no kidding!

It's about 1,500 km2, with like, 1,969 islands jutting outta the water. That's a LOT of islands, people. It's famous cause, simply put, the sheer number of karst and limestone islands makes it unlike anywhere eles.

I was there, like, July 2018. Paid maybe $150 for a 2-day cruise from Hanoi. Absolutely worth it even if I got a lil seasick, haha.

These formations aren't your boring, run-of-the-mill hills or mountains. We're talking towering limestone stacks and islands, sculpted by wind and water for literally millions of years. Think like 500 million years!

Seriously, imagine mountains rising straight from the ocean... it's otherwordly and a sight to behold. I kept looking for King Kong's island.

That's what sets it apart, you know? That's the beauty, that's the magic. You won't find that anywhere else, I swear. I mean maybe but certainly never looked like it.
