Why is World Tourism Day important?

Okay, so why should we even care about World Tourism Day?

Honestly, it’s because it makes us stop and really think about the impact we have when we travel. I mean, let’s be real, traveling is amazing! Are we ensuring they’re being treated kindly, or are we supporting attractions that exploit them? I remember seeing elephants giving rides in Thailand, and it just didn’t sit right with me. I mean, those poor animals!

It’s a yearly nudge, a friendly reminder that we need to travel responsibly and thoughtfully. To really consider the world we’re exploring, not just how much fun we’re having, you know?
