Ugh, data roaming. Okay, lemme tell you about my trip to Mexico City last year.

• The cost varies wildly. It's not just about the amount of data, but where you are. Mexico City = pricey, apparently.
• Some providers offer international plans. I should've gotten one. Verizon's was like $10/day, which would have been way cheaper.
• Wi-Fi is your friend. Seriously, hunt it down. Free Wi-Fi at the hotel and cafes saved me (a little).
• Turn off data roaming IMMEDIATELY upon arrival. Just do it. Don’t think about it.
• Airplane mode helps. I mean, if you really want to avoid charges, just use airplane mode.
• Consider a local SIM card. Next time, I’m doing this. Heard its cheaper?
• Check your provider's website. See what plans they offer for your destination. Don't be like me and assume!

And, you know, maybe try to actually look around instead of staring at your phone all the time. Just a thought. I'm still recovering from that bill! Ugh!

• Manage Internet Usage: Limit browsing, streaming, and social media. Wi-Fi hotspots are your friend. Use a VPN for security, sometimes.

• Monitor Roaming Charges: Even with precautions, check your carrier's website or app for data usage and potential roaming fees. Sometimes, errors happen. It's 2024, but still.
