If you have an unused RAC/WL train ticket, you may be wondering if you can get a refund. The answer is yes, but there are some conditions.

RAC tickets are issued when there is no confirmed berth available. WL tickets are issued when there is no confirmed berth or RAC seat available. Both types of tickets are waitlisted, and there is no guarantee that you will get a confirmed seat or berth.

If you do not get a confirmed seat or berth, you can cancel your ticket and get a refund. The refund window varies depending on the train and the class of travel. For example, RAC tickets can be canceled up to 48 hours before departure, while WL tickets can be canceled up to 24 hours before departure.

To cancel your ticket, you can go to the railway station or contact the IRCTC customer care center. You will need to provide your ticket number and the reason for cancellation. There is a clerkage charge of Rs. 60 for RAC tickets and Rs. 120 for WL tickets.

Once your ticket is canceled, the refund will be processed within 7 days. The refund will be credited to the account that you used to purchase the ticket.

Please note that refunds are not issued after the deadline. So, if you are unable to travel on your train, be sure to cancel your ticket as soon as possible.
