Does China love KFC?
Does China love KFC? Seriously, YES. Like, really love it. I remember when I was a kid, going to KFC was such a big deal! It was almost like... a special occasion, you know? It's crazy, it's arguably even more popular than McDonald's here, which blows my mind. I think a big part of it is that KFC really, really made an effort to, like, understand Chinese tastes. They went out of their way early on. Remember those rice porridge dishes? And all the spicy chicken options? McDonald's, on the other hand… well, they kinda just… stuck with their usual burgers and fries. Which, I mean, they're fine, but they didn't exactly scream "I get you, China!" KFC just felt… more us. More familiar. More accessible. Like they were actually trying, you know what I mean? It made a difference. It built a connection. It’s like they said, "Hey, we want to be a part of your food culture," and people really responded to that. I think that's why, even now, you see KFCs everywhere in China. It’s kind of amazing. So, yeah, China loves KFC. No doubt about it.
