How does Uber recruit drivers?

Ever wonder how Uber gets so many drivers? I know I have! I mean, they're everywhere, right? I even thought about driving for them once, just for a little extra cash, you know?

It seems like they use a bunch of different ways to find people. I see ads online all the time, mostly on social media, like, when I’m scrolling through Instagram or Facebook. And I’ve heard they team up with other companies too – maybe car dealerships or something? I’m not totally sure about that part. Oh! And referrals! My friend’s cousin drives for Uber, and he said they give you a bonus if you refer someone who signs up. Smart, huh?

So, imagine you do click on an ad. I guess you get put in touch with a recruiter who… kinda grills you a bit? Makes sense, I suppose. They probably want to make sure you’re not, like, a crazy person, and that you actually understand what being an Uber driver is. I mean, it's not just about driving, is it? There’s navigation, customer service… you gotta deal with all sorts of personalities! I remember this one time, I took an Uber, and the driver was telling me all about his… well, nevermind. It was a lot. Anyway, I bet the recruiters try to weed out the people who aren't really cut out for it. It’s gotta be tricky for them, figuring out who'll be a good fit.
