Is game developer a stressful job?
Is game development a stressful job? Oh, honey, let me tell you… is it EVER. Seriously stressful. I've heard stories, you wouldn't believe. Like, imagine, right? You’re pouring your heart and soul, every ounce of creativity, into this game. It's your baby! Then BAM! Deadlines. Looming. Like a giant, terrifying deadline monster. Just breathing down your neck, all hot and deadline-y. Ugh, the anxiety just thinking about missing a launch date after all that work… it makes my stomach churn. Can you even imagine? All those all-nighters fueled by pizza and desperation? And the creative blocks? Like hitting a brick wall at 90 miles an hour. Ouch. Not to mention the pressure! The sheer weight of expectations from players, from the studio… it's a lot. I mean, my friend’s cousin – he works in game dev – he told me he once pulled three all-nighters in a row trying to fix a particularly nasty bug. Three! That's insane, right? So yeah. Stressful? I think that's putting it mildly. It sounds utterly, completely, and totally exhausting. Mad respect to anyone who can handle it, truly.
