Do you need to tap off when transferring go trains?
Ugh, tap off on GO Trains? Yes, you definitely need to tap off when you reach your stop, unless youve pre-set a default trip. I learned that the hard way once with an unexpected fare! And dont forget, if youre hopping onto another transit system, like the TTC, tap again with the same method. Its a bit of a hassle, but it saves you money, trust me.

Ugh, tapping off on GO Trains, right? It’s such a thing, isn’t it? You absolutely have to tap off when you get to your destination, unless you’ve already set up that default trip thing in your account. I totally learned that the hard way. One time, I spaced and ended up with this crazy fare, like, way more than it should have been! It was so annoying! Talk about a surprise. And then, you know, if you’re transferring to something else, like the TTC here in Toronto (that’s where I am, by the way!), you have to tap on to that system too, using the same Presto card or whatever you’re using. So, tap off the GO, tap onto the TTC. It seems like a lot, I know, but seriously, it really does save you money in the long run. Believe me! It’s like, what, a couple of seconds of tapping versus a potential fine or an overcharged fare? No brainer, really. You wouldn’t believe how many people I’ve seen get caught out by this. Just tap off!
