Ugh, Ho Chi Minh City traffic. Let me tell you, taxis are the way to go, especially if you're a bit lost. Seriously, they're everywhere.
I remember once, July 2022, hailing one near the Ben Thanh Market. Cost me around 200,000 VND to get to my hotel near District 1. It was a lifesaver, honestly. Super convenient.
Metered taxis are your best bet. You'll pay per kilometer, plus a base fare. Simple enough, right? Avoid those guys trying to negotiate a flat rate though, that's a tourist trap.
One time, a guy tried to charge me double what the meter showed. I just politely said no and jumped in another taxi. So, watch out for those sneaky fares. Use Grab or Gojek apps; safer and more reliable.
Is Grab available in Ho Chi Minh?
So, yeah, Grab's totally in Ho Chi Minh City. It's everywhere, honestly. Like, you'll see those green Grab cars all over the place. I used it last month, actually, to get to the Ben Thanh Market. Super convenient! They're everywhere, really.
Grab's in tons of other places in Vietnam too. Hanoi, definitely. Da Nang, Nha Trang, I think even Da Lat. It's pretty much a given in any decent-sized city. Twenty-four seven, too, mostly. Except maybe super late at night in some of the smaller towns. You know, things get a little quieter then.
