Is 1000 calories a day good for a cut?
No way, 1000 calories a day is way too low! Id be starving and miserable. Sure, a deficit is important for cutting, but that extreme would wreck my metabolism and Id probably lose muscle, even with extra protein. It just isnt sustainable and honestly, it sounds unhealthy and a bit obsessive. Id rather lose weight a bit slower and actually enjoy life.

I remember once trying something close to that – it was maybe 1200, for like, three days? – and I was a complete monster. Constantly thinking about food. Snapping at everyone. I even dreamt of cheeseburgers, which, honestly, is weird because I don’t even like cheeseburgers that much.
I get it, you want to see results fast. Who doesn’t? But trust me, starving yourself isn’t the answer. I’ve read stuff – you know, articles and things – about how drastically cutting calories can mess with your metabolism. Like, it actually slows down, making it harder to lose weight in the long run. Plus, you’ll probably lose muscle too, which is definitely not what you want. What’s the point of being skinny if you’re also weak as a kitten? Not for me, thanks.
I’d much rather take things a bit slower, eat a reasonable amount of food (enough to actually, you know, function), and still enjoy life. Maybe lose a pound or two a week, instead of trying to shed it all at once and ending up feeling (and probably acting) like a total wreck. It’s just not worth it. Think about it – would you rather be slightly hungry sometimes, but happy and energetic? Or hangry, miserable, and obsessed with food all day? Doesn’t sound like a tough choice to me.
