What is QoS in SIP?

Okay, so QoS in SIP... It's basically like, imagine you're trying to have a phone call, right? But instead of a regular phone line, it's over the internet using SIP. Now, the internet can be a messy place. Think rush hour traffic, but with data packets instead of cars. QoS is like having a VIP lane for your voice traffic. It makes sure your voice gets priority over, say, that huge file someone's downloading or that Netflix binge happening in the next room. Without it? Your calls can get choppy, laggy, robotic... basically a nightmare. Who wants to sound like a robot, am I right?

QoS does this magic by managing bandwidth and minimizing latency. Bandwidth is like how wide the road is, and latency is how long it takes your voice to get from point A to point B. QoS makes sure your voice gets enough of that "road" and that the "trip" is super fast.
