Best way to travel from Hanoi to Halong Bay?
Ugh, Hanoi to Ha Long Bay… I did this trip last October, 2023. Such a headache deciding!
The coach? Cheap, around 200,000 VND, but cramped. My knees were practically in my chin the whole ride. No scenic views to speak of, either.
Private car? Luxury, but pricey! Think 1.5 million VND minimum. Worth it if you’re a group, I guess. I was solo. Too much for me.
The train? Romance in theory, a disaster in reality. Old, slow, and smelly. Plus the extra time added up.
Best option for me? Next time I’m booking a private transfer through a reputable company. Splitting the cost with a friend would’ve been ideal.
