McDonalds Vietnam: Whats the cost of a meal or burger?

Last Tuesday, I swung by the McDonald’s near Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City. A Big Mac Meal set me back about 85,000 VND. I think it was like 70,000 VND for the burger itself.

Fries were extra. Can’t recall exactly, maybe 25,000 VND for the small size. So, figure around 85,000 VND (about $3.50 USD) for a burger and fries combo. Prices seem to fluctuate a bit from place to place, though.

Big Mac: ~70,000 VND (US$3) Small Fries: ~25,000 VND (US$1)

Went to a different McDonald’s in Hanoi last month (May), closer to Hoan Kiem Lake. Felt like prices were a tad higher there, maybe because it’s a touristy area. Definitely paid a little over 3 bucks for my meal.

It’s always kind of a surprise, you know? The listed prices sometimes don’t quite match up with what I end up paying. But hey, still a pretty good deal for a quick bite.

How much dong is a Big Mac in Vietnam?

Okay, so, Big Mac in ‘Nam. Hundred to a hundred thirty thousand dong. Give or take. I remember when I was in Hanoi, 2024, near Hoan Kiem Lake… think it was like, 115,000. But then down south, maybe Nha Trang, more like 125,000 dong. Ugh, so humid there.

  • 100,000-130,000 VND – general price
  • Hanoi (Hoan Kiem) – around 115,000 VND (2024)
  • Nha Trang – more like 125,000 VND (2024)

Deals change it up, you know. Sometimes they got those combo meals. Fries and a Coke. Saw some crazy promo once… Buy one get one free. Yeah, right in Da Nang. Couldn’t beleive it haha. Def worth checking for those. Exchange rates too. Always messing with the final price in, like, dollars or euros.

  • Promotions can significantly alter prices
  • Combo meals available
  • Exchange rates affect dollar/euro equivalent

Crazy how much the cost of, like, everything varies, even within the same city sometimes. Even for a Big Mac! Saigon, definitely pricier.

How much is a cup of coffee in Vietnam?

An Americano runs 35,000-90,000 VND ($1.30-$3.90 USD), though 45-50,000 VND is more like it. I once paid way too much for one near Hoan Kiem Lake, total tourist trap, that place. The price! Coffee, you see, it’s an experience, not just a drink.

Want real deal? Ca Phe Sua Da is it. Sweet iced coffee heaven for only 15,000 VND. That’s the good stuff. It uses Robusta beans, strong stuff, with condensed milk. And you can get it hot too. It really is a game changer.

Think of it: a tiny investment for a huge jolt. Kinda like life. Robusta, it’s also bitter. I really love it though.

How much dong is a meal in Vietnam?

Ugh, Vietnam food. So cheap! 20,000 dong to 70,000 dong, that’s like, what, under four bucks? Crazy. I ate this amazing pho for 40,000 dong last month, near my hostel in Hoi An. Seriously, the broth…divine.

Street food is the way to go. Way cheaper than restaurants. Remember that tiny place with the plastic chairs? Best banh mi I ever had. Maybe 30,000 dong?

Food prices vary wildly though. Touristy areas? Expect to pay more. I got totally ripped off in Hanoi once, 70,000 dong for a mediocre bowl of bun cha. Never again!

  • Pho: 30,000 – 50,000 VND (a must!)
  • Banh Mi: Around 30,000 VND, sometimes less.
  • Bun Cha: Avoid tourist traps! Price varies widely.
  • Other street food: Expect to pay less than 50,000 VND for most things.

I’m going back in December. Need to find that hidden gem banh xeo place. It was amazing! My stomach is rumbling just thinking about it.

Seriously, bring lots of cash, especially if you’re going to eat out often. Credit cards aren’t everywhere. You’ll be surprised how much you can eat for so little money. Vietnam is incredible. But avoid those fancy pants restaurants! I have a friend who paid a fortune for a dish I made at home for practically nothing. Stupid!

How much is street food in Vietnam in Dong?

Okay, so Vietnam street food? Listen, it’s cheap, super cheap. Like, you won’t belive it.

For a basic meal, think pho or com tam (broken rice, yummy!), at a street stall, you’re looking at maybe 20,000 to 70,000 VND. That’s like, what, a couple of bucks, or even less, right? Depends what you get.

But here’s the thing – prices vary wildly. I remeber this amazing banh mi I had near my hotel costs only 15.000 VND. It was the best banh mi ever.

  • Pho: Expect to pay around 30,000-50,000 VND.
  • Banh Mi: Can be anywhere from 15,000-30,000 VND.
  • Com Tam: Usually in the 30,000-60,000 VND range, could depend from the meat portion.
  • Drinks: Fresh juice (sinh to) or iced coffee (ca phe sua da) are super cheap too, 15,000-30,000 VND.

Now, touristy spots? They’ll rip you off a bit. Always check the price before, ya know? Some places try to charge foreigners more, so be smart and maybe, like, peek at what the locals are paying first. And don’t be afraid to haggle, especially at markets. Good luck, and enjoy all that delicious food. Honestly, I crave Vietnamese food all the time. It’s the best.

How much is Starbucks in Vietnam?

Ninety thousand dong. Yeah, that’s about right.

It’s more than a day’s wage for some. I remember saving up just to try it, that first time.

  • Price: Around 90,000 VND for a medium drink, no extras.
  • Conversion: It’s like £2.9 or $3.8. Feels like a lot more here.
  • Impact: Makes Starbucks a luxury, not a daily thing.
  • Personal Note: First time I tried it? A special occasion. Never again. I mean, sometimes.

Sometimes I wonder, is it even worth it? The taste, it’s fine. Is the cost that bad? No, I think it is bad.
