What happens if a will is not followed after death?

Ugh, its just awful when a will isnt followed. It feels like a total betrayal of the deceaseds wishes! If that happened in my family, Id be furious. Thankfully, the courts are there. If the executor messes up, you can actually fight to get them replaced! And the court will step in and find someone else to handle things. Still, its a nightmare I hope I never have to deal with.

What happens if a will gets ignored after someone dies? Ugh, the whole thing just feels…wrong, you know? Like a massive slap in the face to the person who’s gone. It’s heartbreaking, honestly. Imagine, all their careful planning, their wishes for how things should be distributed – and then, poof, ignored. I mean, my Aunt Millie spent years meticulously crafting her will, making sure everyone felt fairly treated. The thought of someone just disregarding that… it makes my blood boil.

I’d be livid, absolutely livid. Probably pacing my living room for days, muttering darkly about lawyers. Seriously, I’d lose it.

Thankfully, though, there are legal avenues, right? It’s not like some wild west free-for-all where whoever grabs the most stuff wins. I read somewhere – maybe it was a blog, maybe a magazine article, I can’t quite remember – that if the executor (the person in charge of carrying out the will) screws up royally, you can actually challenge them. You can petition the court to get them removed! I’d go straight for that nuclear option, definitely. The court will then appoint someone else, hopefully someone more…competent, and less interested in lining their own pockets.

Still, even with that safety net, the whole process sounds like a monumental headache. A giant, stress-inducing, paperwork-laden nightmare. I truly, truly hope I never have to deal with anything like that. It’s bad enough losing someone you love, without having to fight tooth and nail over their possessions afterward. It just feels…so wrong.
