To remove a user from your Apple IDs shared settings on your Mac, navigate to System Settings, then select Users & Groups. Locate the unwanted user, click the minus button, and confirm deletion. Note that shared-only users are removed instantly.

Removing a User from Your Apple ID
Step 1: Access System Settings
- Click on the Apple icon in the top-left corner of your screen.
- Select “System Settings” from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: Select “Users & Groups”
- In the sidebar, click on “Users & Groups.”
Step 3: Identify the User to Remove
- The list of users associated with your Apple ID will be displayed.
- Locate the user you wish to remove.
Step 4: Click the Minus Button
- Click the minus button (-) located below the user’s information.
Step 5: Confirm Deletion
- A confirmation dialog box will appear.
- Click “Delete User” to confirm the removal.
Note:
- Shared-only users: These users only have access to shared content, such as photos and music. They are immediately removed from the list after clicking the minus button.
- Users with local accounts: These users have a local account on your Mac in addition to their Apple ID. Removing them from your Apple ID will not delete their local account. You can separately delete local accounts by following these steps:
- Open System Settings.
- Select “Users & Groups.”
- Click the lock icon in the bottom-left corner and enter your administrator password.
- Select the user you want to delete.
- Click the minus button and confirm deletion.
