How many days do I need in Hoi An?

Okay, so Hoi An, right? You need at least three days, no less. Three days minimum, seriously. It’s not enough to really see everything, but you’ll get a good taste, ya know? The Old Town is amazing, you gotta wander around those tiny streets.

Food’s incredible. So much good food. Seriously. Get the Cao Lau, it’s a must-try. And try some of the Banh Mi. I had a cooking class, it was awesome, learned to make spring rolls—so much fun. You could totally do that, maybe even get some clothes tailored!

Best time to go? Feb-April is supposedly the best weather, but I went in June and it was fine. Hot, yes, but hot and humid is kinda the vibe there. Rainy season’s a bit of a gamble, but cheaper flights, I think, that’s what my friend said. December/January is also nice and busy.

Things to do in Hoi An:

• Explore the Ancient Town (duh!)
• Take a cooking class (totally worth it!)
• Get something tailored (super cheap!)
• Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge
• Ride a bike along the Thu Bon River

Best time to visit: February to April is ideal weather, but June was surprisingly nice also. It’s hot everywhere, but so is Florida in summer, and I still love it there. Avoid the really peak times like Christmas and New Year’s, unless you like crowds. Prices go way up too.

How long should I spend in Hoi An?

Three days? Bare minimum, I guess. Even then, it felt rushed. Hoi An…it clung to me, you know? The scent of incense, still there in my memory.

The Old Town is beautiful, heartbreaking even. Those lanterns at night… a thief stealing your breath away. I spent hours just wandering.

• Tailor shops – Got three shirts made. A beautiful waste of money, perhaps. Worth it.
• Food. Oh god, the food. White rose dumplings, Cao Lau, so much more. I ate until I hurt. Still dreaming of it. Seriously.

Cooking class? Didn’t do one. Regret that. Should have. Maybe next time. But, will there be a next time? I don’t know.

Three days isn’t enough. More like five, six? Seven, maybe. I could have stayed longer. Should have. I miss it already. This town has a way of getting under your skin. It’s intoxicating, a bitter-sweet poison. It’s haunting. The river, the temples, everything… I should have planned better. A week, at least. Absolutely.

Is 2 nights enough in Hoi An?

Two nights in Hoi An? Sufficient. Absolutely. Though, it depends on your pace, of course. My friend, Sarah, crammed everything into one – whirlwind, she called it. Personally, I’d recommend two.

Ancient Town exploration is a must. Wandering its charming streets, soaking in the atmosphere…easily half a day. The lanterns at night are spectacular; magical, even. You’ll need a good chunk of time for that.

A Thu Bon River boat trip? Do it. The sunset views are breathtaking. Picture it: you, a cool drink, and the river’s gentle flow. Heavenly. This easily takes 2-3 hours.

Cooking classes are abundant. I opted for the Red Bridge Cooking School in 2023. Excellent. But, reserve well in advance; particularly during peak season. This is a good half day activity, minimum.

My Son Sanctuary? A day trip, definitely. The ancient Cham towers are impressive. Requires a full day excursion, travel time included. It’s worth it, but adds a considerable time commitment. Cham Islands are also an option, but equally demanding.

Ultimately, two nights are a good base. More time allows for greater exploration of the surrounding areas. However, two nights provide ample time for Hoi An’s core experiences. That said, a third night would be nice, wouldn’t it? Life’s too short to rush!

How many days is enough for Hoi An?

Three days minimum. Hoi An demands it. More is preferable.

Best time? February to April. Pleasant. Other times? Different charms. Expect rain, maybe. October’s a gamble, beautiful chaos. My trip last year was in July. Hot, humid. Worth it.

• Tailoring: Time-consuming. Plan accordingly. My suit took two days.
• Beaches: Anseong beach. Easy day trip.

Things I Didn’t Do, But Regret:

• My Son Sanctuary visit. Heard it’s magnificent.
• Tra Que Vegetable Village. Should have biked there.

Avoid peak season. Crowds. Overpriced. November’s a solid choice. Less crowded.

2024 update: Prices slightly higher. Tourist numbers increasing steadily. Prepare for this. Flights booked earlier now.

Is 4 days in Hoi An enough?

Four days? Sufficient. Maybe.

Depends on your pace. My trip? Two days felt rushed. Ancient Town? Overrated, honestly. Still, the lanterns…

• Tailor shops. Exhausting. Bargaining is a blood sport.
• Food. Delicious. But repetitive after day three.
• My opinion? Three days is optimal. Four, indulgent.

Prioritize. Choose. Lanterns or tailoring? Street food or fine dining? Time is finite. Hoi An’s charm? Fleeting.
