Do airlines check the weight of carry-on?
Ugh, do airlines really check the weight of carry-ons? It’s like playing Russian roulette with your luggage! Most of the time, they seem way more obsessed with whether your bag fits in that little metal cage thing. Right? But, and this is the big but, they can weigh it. And that tiny word “can” is enough to keep me up at night before a flight. Seriously, who needs that kind of stress?
I remember once seeing this poor guy at the gate in Barcelona. He was sweating bullets trying to shove half his belongings into his wife’s already overflowing bag because his was too heavy. It was brutal! Talk about a mood killer before vacation. Another time, I swear I saw someone ditching a full bottle of expensive perfume in the trash! Like, what?! Just thinking about it makes my palms sweat.
So, yeah, even though it feels like a gamble, they technically can weigh your carry-on. And honestly? I’d rather pack light and skip the drama. Who wants to start their trip off like that? Not me! Is it worth the risk of having to repack at the gate or, even worse, pay those crazy overweight bag fees? Definitely not. A little pre-trip planning goes a long way, you know?
