Acelas Business Class offers a more comfortable ride than coach. Expect wider seats, extra legroom, and at times a complimentary beverage. Note: complimentary drinks are not standard on Acela Business Class.

Okay, so you’re wondering about the difference between riding coach and business class on Amtrak’s Acela, huh? Well, let me tell you, there IS a difference. Business class is definitely a step up in terms of comfort. Think wider seats – which, believe me, makes ALL the difference on a long train ride. I once took a trip from Boston to DC in coach, crammed next to someone who, well, let’s just say they took up more than their fair share of space. Never again!

Then there’s the legroom. Oh, the legroom! In business class, you can actually, you know, stretch your legs. It’s glorious. I’m not super tall, but even I appreciate being able to shift around a bit without bumping knees with the person in front of me.

And sometimes, sometimes you even get a free drink! I say “sometimes” because, and this is a little annoying, it’s not always a perk. I remember one time being so excited, thinking I’d get my complimentary beverage, and then… nothing. So don’t go expecting a free drink in business class, okay? Just consider it a pleasant surprise if it happens. It’s kind of a bummer, really. You’d think with the higher price, it’d be standard. But hey, the extra space alone is usually worth the upgrade for me. It just makes the whole experience so much more… civilized. Don’t you think?
