Grab price from Hoi An to Da Nang? Cost and taxi options.

Grab from Hoi An to Da Nang? About 300,000 VND. Thirty kilometers, give or take.

Took a Grab last May, from Hoi An’s Old Town to my hotel near My Khe beach. Cost me around that much. Traffic wasn’t bad, think it was a Tuesday afternoon.

Trip took about 40 minutes. Could be pricier during Tet or summer holidays, I’d guess. Worth checking the app for current fares. Da Nang airport to Hoi An is similar, maybe a tad more.

How do I get from Hoi An to Da Nang?

Sun bleeds across rice paddies. Hoi An fades. Da Nang waits. A taxi, a blur of green, whisks you away. Thirty minutes. Maybe more if the motorbike symphony swells. Grab. A tap, a hum, the same road unfolds. A private car, cool leather, hushed. The cost, a whisper against the wind. Buses lumber, a mosaic of faces. Time stretches, slow. The cost, a handful of dong. Sun. Wind. The road to Da Nang calls.

  • Taxi: Swift. Efficient. Green. The meter ticks.
  • Grab: Phone’s glow. A tap. A car appears.
  • Private Car: Luxury whispers. Leather cool against skin. Price a murmur.
  • Local Bus: Faces. Stories unfold. The road stretches. Time slows. Cheap.

Remember the sun. Remember the wind. The road to Da Nang. A ribbon unwinding. My trip last May, the scent of frangipani thick in the air, a jade bracelet bought in Hoi An, cool against my wrist. Da Nang’s lights, a promise on the horizon. The taste of salt. The sea.

How much is grab per km in Vietnam?

Night again. Streetlights blur. Thinking about… Grab fares. Eleven thousand dong. Per kilometer. After the first two. Thirty thousand for those first two kilometers. Sucks getting stuck in traffic. Three hundred dong per minute ticking by. Remember that trip to District 7. Cost more than I thought.

  • GrabCar (4 seats):

    • Minimum Fare: 30,000 VND (first 2 km)
    • Price/km: 11,000 VND (after the first 2 km)
    • Price/minute: 300 VND
  • GrabCar (7 seats): (Didn’t they used to list this fare? Strange.)

Wish I had a motorbike. Cheaper. Hot though. Maybe next year. Gotta sleep. Work tomorrow. Ugh. Fares went up, didn’t they? Remember… ten thousand something? No. Eleven. Eleven thousand now. Everything’s going up.

How much money should I bring to Da Nang?

Da Nang. Money. Simplicity.

Budget: $20-$30 daily. Food, bed, wheels, maybe a beach. Think backpacking. Cheap beer.

Mid-range: $50-$70. Comfort zone. Better food. Tours. That’s… alright. I saw a nice cafe.

Luxury: $100+. Endless. Hotels, spas, whatever floats your boat. Yachts exist. Enjoy.

Prices fluctuate. Lunar New Year? Double it. So?

  • Accommodation: Hostels are cheap. Hotels offer more. Consider location and amenities. My friend prefers beachfront views.
  • Food: Street food is amazing. Restaurants offer choices. Banh mi is essential. Also, Seafood.
  • Transportation: Grab is convenient. Motorbikes are risky. Buses are doable. Walking is free.
  • Activities: Beaches are free. Museums cost money. Tours vary. Marble Mountains are nice.

I paid 30k for a banh mi once. Highway robbery!

Is there a Grab in Da Nang?

Da Nang Grab? Yeah, nah. Gone. Poof. Like a magician’s rabbit. Except no magic involved. More like a regulatory disappearing act. Think Thanos snapping his fingers, but for ride-hailing apps.

  • Grab bikes: Zip. Zero. Nada.
  • Grab cars: See above. Same story. Different vehicle.

Used to be there. Like, a year ago? My buddy Todd from Des Moines visited in March ’23, swore he grabbed a ride. Now? Tumbleweeds. Digital tumbleweeds.

So, what can you use in Da Nang?

  • Taxis: Plentiful. Like pigeons in a park. Haggle like your life depends on it. Think of it as a sport.
  • Ride-hailing apps (local): Gojek, Be. They’re like the understudies who suddenly got the lead role. Download ’em. They’re alright. Not Grab, but, hey. They’ll get ya there.
  • Motorbike rentals: Feeling adventurous? Go for it. Just, uh, watch out for those roundabouts. They’re wild. Like a herd of hamsters on caffeine.

I once rented a motorbike in Da Nang. Ended up in a rice paddy. Long story. Don’t ask. Stick to Gojek. Trust me. Seriously. I learned the hard way. Rice paddies and motorbikes? Not a good mix.

Is Da Nang expensive to visit?

Da Nang. Cheap. Not really. $400 for a week, solo. Double for two. Flights not included. Think beach, think beer, think inflated prices.

$800 for two weeks, alone. More for company. Food adds up. So do the motorbike rentals. Worth it? Maybe.

  • Accommodation: Hostels, hotels, resorts. Pick your poison. Budget matters.
  • Food: Street food’s a steal. Restaurants, not so much. Seafood, pricey.
  • Transport: Motorbikes rule. Taxis, Grab, exist. Walking’s an option. Hot one.
  • Sightseeing: Marble Mountains. Golden Bridge. Ba Na Hills. Costs vary.

My trip? 2024. $550 for ten days. Solo. Could’ve been less. Definitely could’ve been more. Depends on your style. Mine? Comfortable poverty.

Bargaining helps. Street vendors expect it. Restaurants, less so. Don’t be shy. Worst they can say is no. Happens. Move on.

Dong, the currency. Confusing at first. Millions. Billions. Get used to it. ATMs everywhere. Visa, Mastercard, accepted. Mostly.

Remember travel insurance. Just in case. Motorbike accidents happen. Food poisoning too. Not often. But still.

Sunsets. Free. Worth the whole trip. Almost.
